Two words with the same stem (корень, однокоренные), but different meaning!

AWE (o:) - страх, трепет.

AWESOME (o:som) - very good ☺

AWFUL (o:ful) - very bad

- to be in awe of somebody \ something - трепетать перед кем-то\чем-то

Everyone in the country is in awe of the king and queen.

I love my new car. In fact, I'm in awe of it.

- to keep / hold in awe — держать в страхе.

He kept all the country in awe.

- to strike with awe — поразить, внушить трепет.

Her beauty strikes me with awe.
