In diabetic hypertensive patients with microalbuminuria and normal renal function, hyperkalaemia (mEq/ L) occurred in 2% of the patients in the irbesartan 300 mg group and 2% of the patients in the placebo group.

En pacientes diabéticos hipertensos con microalbuminuria y función renal normal, se observó hiperkalemia (5,mEq/ l) en el 29,% de los pacientes tratados con 300 mg de irbesartan y en el 2% de los pacientes del grupo placebo.
