Grumbler and Валерий Данилин, Thank you for your help. To be honest I still don’t quite understand what this means though I’ve got the explanation from a native speaker:

“We’re going to add - the cost of interest - to your account.”

To charge: to add the cost (an amount of money). We usually say “charge it on my Visa card” or “charge it to my account”.

Interest = the added cost to the original price usually calculated by a percentage

to pay interest - платить вам процеты (на ваши сбережения)

to charge interest - брать с вас проценты за ваш долг (добавлять проценты к долгу)

Насколько я поняла, тут речь идет о кредите. Банк начисляет проценты (как это называется в российской банковской системе я не знаю, поисковик выдает только «штраф», «неустойка»), если платеж по кредиту не был произведен вовремя. Вот тут статья про проценты по кредиту -
