Tim, nowhere on that site did I see “I fit a description story” - THAT makes absolutely no sense and it’s baffling to me how anyone could translate something that has no meaning.

Но даже самый малограмотный человек определит, что то или иное предложение неидиоматично. Например, «Я подходить описание история».

What’s funny is that someone can think that two disassociated nouns DESCRIPTION and STORY can be the object of a verb. It would be another thing if it were STORY DESCRIPTION because then at least you would fit the description of a story, but FIT THE DESCRIPTION STORY makes no earthly sense. How do you not see that?

I feel responsible for the content that’s posted in English for the sake of people who are learning it. With your level of English, you shouldn’t be translating into anything but Russian. Or at least post your translation attempts in the comments to be corrected before you post them.

Dude, I’ve lived in the US all my life and am actually a linguist. One this is skipping words, another thing is being ungrammatical. It’s amazing to see that someone can be brilliant enough to become an engineer, yet idiotic enough to argue the inarguable.

If someone is telling a story and it resonates with you because it describes a similar experience in your life, then you would say: “That story struck a chord with me” or “That story resonated with me.” If you think about it, what is the “description of a story”? A story, by definition, IS a descriptive process. So the whole concept of fitting a “description of a story” is illogical. No?

“я отвечаю описанию этой истории” this one is not. Just not correct verb, instead of "отвечаю" you need "подхожу" and it will fits perfect.

В русском языке используют: я подхожу под это описание. / ты подходишь под это описание и т. д.
