Я не использовал conservatory, т.к. это слово слишком часто используется для "веранда"
Не зря Lingvo в одном из вариантов дает "conservatory of music"

а вот я ни разу не слышал conservatory в качестве веранды

Yeah, that must be a British thing. But then it’s still called a conservatory, not conservatoire, right?

I am no expert in this, but that's what wiki says:

Such an institution can also be known as a school of music, music academy, music faculty, college of music, music department (of a larger institution), conservatory or conservatoire.

A conservatory of music may also be known in English as conservatoire (chiefly in the UK[21]), conservatorium (in Australia[22][23]), academy or college.
