Good question. We use all of them. MEDICINE and MEDICATION are interchangeable: "I can't drink wine - I'm taking medicine/medication for my thyroid." When we refer to the industry that produces medications, we call them DRUGS: "The reason that prescription DRUGS are so astronomical is that the DRUG manufacturers are capitalizing on the sick and desperate." DRUGS is of course also used in the sense of NARCOTICS: "Andy paid for his college education by dealing DRUGS to his rich classmates."

Улий, хотелось бы услышать от вас, как американцы сейчас называют лекарство - medicine, medication или drug? Или еще как?

A pill is only one form of medication - there are capsules, pills, tabs, inhalers, patches, etc.
