Actually it is. There are those who would come to this site to learn Russian - like me, and would think that’s it’s ok to use кто нибудь as is.

no one will judge or criticize you if you write (кто нибудь) without a hyphen,
I'm a Russian native speaker and I never pay attention to these small grammatical details, I tend to focus on other things, like the context of a sentence, meaning, etc. I think you shouldn't attack people based on how they write thus showing your superiority over them, every person writes differently some use hyphen some don't, some use apostrophe in words such you're, they're some don't, it's their choice. just be a little bit lenient to people that make mistakes, we are both in the same boat friend)

A little leniency can be had in a chat or your personal messages if you’re truly that illiterate, but on a language website where you’re basically representing your language to those who would learn it, it’s lazy, irresponsible and inexcusable to present incorrect language. It’s not about superiority - it’s common sense.
