She who gifts/gives/brings beauty (?)

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

If someone can explain what this implies, I can come up with an English equivalent.

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

And since Tatiana Troitskaya didn't give any context, I'LL give one.

Alex Sospublicó un comentario 5 лет назад

В русском языке "дарящая красоту" обычно означает ничто иное.
"она отдает свои внутренний мир, свой свет, свою любовь, отдает миру, людям….отдает прото так, просто по тому что не может не отдавать…."

«She’s a person who gifts her beauty to everyone»?! Now that has just made my day! 🤣 And who would that be? A slut?

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

😂😭🤣

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

Alex, that may be how you say it in Russian, but not in English. And now your translation has two hearts, so everyone thinks it’s accurate.

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

Do both my translations seem accurate?

Alexander Аkimovpublicó un comentario 5 лет назад

Formally yes. But it should sound shorter, like a book or movie title, like “Gone with the Wind.” Maybe “She who exudes...” or something.

Alexander Аkimovpublicó un comentario 5 лет назад

When I first read Alex’ translation this morning, my mouth sagged open. Then, when I managed to close it, I started to think how I would develop that translation in the same manner.
This is what I can suggest, just as a version:
ORIGINAL:
«Дарящая красоту».
TRANSLATION:
«This lady, a kind of woman who never asks for money, proud and decorous, she never gets tired of giving away her beauty to anyone she meets on the street or elsewhere, and, whoever the person she faces, she does it absolutely for free.»

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

That’s not a translation - that’s a dissertation)))

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

BTW, my mouth is STILL open with Alex’s translation.

Alexander Аkimovpublicó un comentario 5 лет назад

Uly, how about “Gifting Beauty”? I would like to retain the original words.

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

Nope. To be clear, GIFTING is taking something you own or were given (and you don’t want) and giving it as a present to someone else.

Alexander Аkimovpublicó un comentario 5 лет назад

Ok. Maybe “Living Beauty”?

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

That means she’s not dead.

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

Not everything can be translated succinctly.

Alexander Аkimovpublicó un comentario 5 лет назад

However, I got tired of all that stuff. No context, no comments. I’m closing this issue for myself. Time to sleep.

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

Yep, me too!

Alexander Аkimovpublicó un comentario 5 лет назад

...and thank you. Anyway it’s been a lesson ))

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

And the author doesn’t seem too interested in the discussion, so let her use Alex’s translation!

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

He gifts his knowledge of English to everyone!

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

I see Alex’s beauty is still “gifting” her stuff!

Alexander Аkimovpublicó un comentario 5 лет назад

Просто рука не поднимается "отрезать такую красоту!"

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

😂

Tatiana Troitskayapublicó un comentario 5 лет назад

Sorry, gues, i missed your Hot conversation. So, you can see the pic named on Russian Дарящая красоту. Really, i m tryng to find equval sens in english

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

If you want a short name for a caption, I would go with Radiant Beauty.

Tatiana Troitskayapublicó un comentario 5 лет назад

Thanks, i like it, in all cases there is not short similar name

⁌ ULY ⁍publicó un comentario 5 лет назад

No, I don’t think there is.
