Grumbler, here sharp means astute, and see means realize.

Но astute и realize перевести затрудняюсь - слишком широкие значения, особенно у первого.

I'll give you an example: imagine you're in a bar with a friend. His wife calls and he answers. From the way he's talking and the things he's saying -- and not saying -- you realize that they're separated:
-- Was that your wife?
-- Yeah.
-- Are you two going through a divorce?
-- How in the world could you possibly know that?
-- When she asked where you were, you said in a restaurant. You also didn't mention the new car you bought today.
-- It was very sharp/astute of you to see (all) that (from one phone conversation).
