Well, yes, in some situations we use them as equal. (В некоторых / каких-то ситуациях). In plural they have no difference. But we don't usually use некоторый with singular (only uncountable like time - некоторое время) Let me give you more examples as I'm not rally able to explain it all.. Некоторые/какие-то люди не любят мороженое. Какой-то человек в этой комнате не любит мороженое. Он подождал некоторое время/какое-то время. Я купила какие-то вещи. But we don't say Я купила некоторые вещи. This sounds strange. We can't buy, see or hear некоторые things. Well, we can but the context is very hard to explain (so let's say we can't). But if you add "from the list" to the sentence, it will sound natural. So in this case we say некоторые is like "not all". Я купила некоторые вещи из списка, но некоторых/каких-то в магазине не было.

Нет такого слова "одный"

какой-то=some. I'd say that we use какой-то when we know nothing about person/object or didn't know anything before. (В комнате сидел какой-то человек. There was a man sitting in the room). (Я увидел какого-то человека, идущего по улице. Когда он подошел ближе, я узнал его. I saw a[some] man walking down the street. When he came up I recognized him)
