This is an old article but I’m surprised no one checked you. El Sinaloenese is NOT huapango. Zapateado & Huapango are two different dances and with el Sinaloense it’s a Zapateado. Imagine someone trying to dance huapango to El Sinaloense??? Lol

Huapango
The huapango is a Mexican musical genre from a region called the ‘Huasteca’, which includes the states of Tamaulipas, Puebla, Veracruz; San Luis Potosí, Guanajuato, Hidalgo and Querétaro. The word ‘huapango’ is related to the nahua ‘cuauhpanco’, which derives from ‘cuahutli’ (log). The suffixes –pan and –co are space related, thus the word means ‘over the wooden platform.
The main features of the huapango are a complex timing, played with string instruments. Mainly a big guitar with five or eight strings called ‘quinta huapanguera’, a smaller instrument called ‘jarana huasteca’ and a violin. The first two carry the rhythmic part while the violin provides the melody. However, the huapango can be played by very different settings of musicians and instruments.
Mexico is a country where the boundaries between traditions and songs are hard to distinguish and not even the specialists can tell which are the purest expressions of each genre. Nonetheless, one important feature is that the singers need to have high pitched and strong voices, because this genre allows for them to show their vocal qualities.
There is a very famous dance called Huapango, composed by Juan Pablo Moncayo. It is one of the most famous musical compositions of Mexico but, in spite of its name, it is not a real huapango, though it is based on 'sones' from Veracruz, another genre of popular songs.
The best way to understand huapango, as it is with every kind of music, is to hear huapango. Some of the most famous huapangos are: ‘Cielo Rojo’ (‘Red sky’, by Juan Záizar), ‘El jinete’ (‘the rider’ by José Alfredo Jiménez), ‘Llorona’ (‘the weeping woman’ by David Záizar), ‘El sinaloense’ (‘the man from Sinaloa’ Severiano Briseño), ‘La malagueña’ (Pedro Galindo y Elpidio Ramírez), and many more.
The huapango was a genre featured very often in what is called the Golden age of Mexican Cinema, where famous singers like Jorge Negrete, Pedro Infante, Amalia Mendoza, Lola Beltrán and Luis Aguilar starred many movies. I suggest you to look for the songs so you can hear and see this very melodic and dramatic genre.

I love listening to unusual music on soundcloud. Tell me how to get more followers on this platform?
You know, I'm the lead singer of a small musical group and we play rock. About a year ago I started uploading our songs to Soundcloud and of course started to get some monetization from listening. But it was rather poor. A couple of months ago I decided to order a promotion here and now the money from monetization has started to flow very actively. I think that I will continue to use this service to promote music on soundcloud.
