It should be pointed out that in usual far-field measurement

setups, such as the elevated and slanted range configurations,

the AUT rotates with respect to its reference center, whereas

the source antenna is fixed. In this way, the contributions of

both the test source and the distance on the received power

are constant. Unfortunately, this measurement configuration

cannot be implemented with the UAV because, in the nominal

flying condition, the dipole orientation is mainly parallel to

the ground, whereas the AUT is fixed. In other words, the

source pattern also affects the received power pattern .

Moreover, the best flying condition can be obtained with

quasi-rectilinear paths at a constant height over the ground

(planar scan strategy). Therefore, the path loss is not constant
