Вот, Улий! Ещё Тимофей тебя английскому не учил. 😂
Ты намекаешь что я глупый?
Я намекаю, что смешно, когда наши люди принимаются американца английскому учить. Смех сквозь слёзы.
Dear Timofey, can we agree that (1) the indefinite article A only precedes singular nouns? (2) that if so, then A LOT is a singular concept much like your куча, that can be comprised of several countable and uncountable persons and things like “a lot of sugar” or “a lot of people”? (3) That you wouldn’t say, for instance, былИ кучА людей в театре? (<- maybe you DO say this and I’m wrong)
Having said that, it is also correct to say “There are a lot of you,” so instead of correcting my translation, you should have added yours 😉
(Just don’t use there’re - it looks contrived.)
Tatiana, don’t be too hard on our Timofey - he may have taken me for a Russian. I should change my nickname on here; I think it’s misleading.
Точно! 👍
