I'm not sure about the form, but both быть твоей сущностью and будь своей сущностью sound awful to me - too literal.

For the record, the English is also corny as hell!

Ok, but the thing is to be YOUR OWN essence. Let’s say you got into dealing drugs to make ends meet, but you’re essentially a good person - stop selling drugs and BE THAT PERSON. That’s the gist of what they’re trying to say.
