Ха-ха. Русс тупо списал)))
EXCHANGED is actually my first choice - it’s more idiomatic.
Good to know! 🙏
Russ, спасибо что оставили и мне кое-что! Благородный воришка... Или ленивый)))
Tatiana, my translation was published first. I thought you knew that the most recent translations get lower number. Your translation is number 1, mine is number 2 meaning you posted after me. Anyway, thanks for воришка, тупо списал и ленивый.
What does that mean?
From the aforementioned posts you can see that Tatiana assumed I saw her translation, copied it, slightly changed it and posted here as mine (by stealing her original idea of translation). But I had to point that my translation was posted first and then she posted hers saying I'd copied her version, modified a bit and posted. She didn't know the top version of translation was the most recent.
Actually, I didn’t understand any of it because I don’t know what Воришка, тупо списал и ленивый)) That’s what I was asking about.
Воришка - a thief
тупо списал - copied something straight forward without amending the original and used it. (little rude)
ленивый - lazy (here implies I was lazy to come up with my own translation and just blatantly copied hers.)
Overall, not a big deal. It's just Tatiana didn't realized when there were 2 or 3 translations posted, the top one would be the most recent and not vice versa.
Ah, ok! Now I get it. Sorry to be so obtuse))) These are all new words for me. Thank you!
Tatiana is a sweetheart - I’m sure she meant it in good fun.
I know, I like her versions, they're always good. If she lives in Russia it's even more impressive. It's confusing that the website would post the second translation on top moving the first one on the bottom. And if someone adds a third translation the website would post it on top of the previous ones. While it should probably display them in the order they were posted. But that's something we can't change.
The order of the translations also depends on the number of hearts.
Both translations are valid, but I have to say that EXCHANGED is the more natural and idiomatic version.
could be but the point here is not about the translation quality. anyway, as I said not a big deal. Let's close this old thread.
👍🏼 😉
Uly's right - I didn't meant to insult you. However, I don't like it when people on here post translations that are exact copies of what someone already posted in the comments, which was exactly what happened that time. Sadly, I didn't think you might just have overlooked it. Really sorry, Russ. And thank you for your nice words. Btw, I'm obliged to Uly for quite a lot of things I know about English.
❤️
When I post a translation I don't look at the comments. I just click "Добавить перевод" button. While posting a translation it does not even show the older comments field. So, I had no idea what you wrote in the comments. If 3 words out of 5 matched in our translations it just a coincidence. A mere coincidence.
