Igor, "these two" is the end of the sentence and the speaker is referring to two people. In this case, would you say это двое or этих двух or something else?

"этих двоих" I would say. and in the case of people I'd rather say "выдержать" rather than "пережить", because "пережить кого-то" usually means "to live longer than someone"
