Yes, if you added JUST IN TIME it would make sense, but is that what the original post means?

The way I see it, nobody plans to arrive at the airport just in time to make it to their flight – it usually happens because of some hold up on the way to the airport.

MAKE IT Means to finally get somewhere, or to get somewhere despite a lot of impediments. It's not something one usually SHOULD do. I think the correct verb here is HAVE TO. Your use of SHOULD is also confusing - it doesn't express any immediacy. Everything about it is confusing.

This just gets more and more confusing. In the simplest terms, what does this mean? The way I see it, it simply means "we have a plane to catch" said by someone who is urgently making their way to the airport so as to not be late. Is this not correct?
