Grumbler, a few suggestions (1) ALL OUR FAMILY implies all your brothers and sisters, and their children and their children... It's better to use AS A FAMILY, which limits the party to your household. (2) If you state a point in the past, in this case YESTERDAY, the progressive is used to describe what was going on before/when something else happened: Yesterday we were all sitting in the living room watching tv WHEN WE HEARD A LOUD CRASH OUTSIDE. So your translation sounds somewhat incomplete as it is, because it's somewhat "open-ended"... the listener is left "waiting for the other shoe to drop."
