This is the actual verbiage:
Alex, EVERYTHING WAS OUT NOW means that everybody found finally knew what had happened. Also, SHE betrayed HIM, SHE failed HIM (=wasn’t there for her when he needed her), not the other way around. And these factors all resulted in him taking his own life.

Правильна, но неестественна. Лично я бы сказал: It was all out now; her betrayal AND her failure of John Henry, WHICH had ended UP in his death.
Но исходная версия из книги — самая лучшая, конечно.
