Ладно, но я думаю что вот в этом контексте это вряд ли то, что имеется ввиду. По-моему речь, скорее всего, о том, что эта информация может возникнуть в будущем, именно тогда, когда кое-кому неудобно, неприятно. Как вы думаете?

Yes, you're right, Uly. "Выстрелить" means here to produce an effect , and it's going to be negative.

фраза по-русски звучит немного странно на мой вкус. я не вижу здесь явно негативного эффекта. с таким же успехом это может означать "оказаться очень полезной" или даже "принести много денег".

Igor, ну тут да, кто как видит ситуацию. Однозначно пожалуй не скажешь без контекста. Но лично для меня, первое что в голову пришло - информация раскроется, о ней узнают в неподходящий момент.
