You can, and it’s grammatical, but it’s SOOOOOO awkward and strange. This tone is used mostly in stories, especially legends or accounts of people disappearing, for example. “Atlantis is said/thought/believed to have simply disappeared along with all its inhabitants.” or “Rasputin was said to have been able to hypnotize people with his gaze alone.” With this in mind, you’ll see how silly it would sound to apply this type of expression to something as mundane as your neighbors sending their kid to private school 😉

Yeah unfortunately but our teachers believe that speaking modern English and using new phrases isn’t that much important. They think complex grammar is the only thing u gotta know. That literally sucks 😬
