CB удалил)) Искал контекст. Непонятно, какое радио, но думаю, что с базой общался рано утром.

А может, так:
"Этим утром я проснулась двумя часами ранее обычного, слушала затем радио, да заснуть вновь оно мне так и не помогло, а лишь вызвало головная боль, которая..."

ON THE RADIO doesn’t mean that they listened to the radio. It means that they were actively communicating on it. A two-way radio of some sort. According to the context, they had to get up 2 hours early in order to get on the radio. Is it possible that they’re communicating with a spacecraft on the radio?
