Correct! In the real world, English has a distinct rhythm, and that rhythm is disrupted when you use full forms (he has) instead of contractions (he’s). For some reason, Russian schools and textbooks discourage the use of contractions, and in so doing, they’re doing you a big disservice because using full forms makes you sound like a robot. So say No! to full forms and start embracing our beautiful contractions in writing and especially in speech. You’ll thank your uncle Uly one day 😉

On another note, Maria, I want to personally thank you for breathing life into this site with your wonderful, interesting posts. I’m sure I speak for most everyone here when I say that we’ve all learned from them — me Russian, and them English 💝
