don't write не пишешь вообще, а aren't writing подразумевает временное действие, в данном случае сегодня.

Anna, let's say your husband is a writer, and everyday when you wake up, you find him at his desk writing. But this morning, you woke up and found him watching tv and you say " You're not writing today."
