what is your digital copy?
I think this is some digital imaginary image
Oh! Your digital CLONE (a digital copy is something you buy and download like music, documents, etc.)
👍
Now what does “suppress you” mean?
I mean подавить
Normally you suppress crime, injustice, unrest, etc., but not people.
How do you say: подавлять личность?
I don’t know what that means.
when somebody treats another person with superiority and the another person feels humiliated
Your digital copy, in this context, is, obviously, your own image that you create in the internet, social media.
Some people so obsessed with this image, that it starts affecting their real life.
Obsession with selfies is a good example, but this can be much worse.
Then that would be an avatar, digital clone, or digital double.
Or even online persona.
In Russian this can be said in different ways too.
'Your digital copy' is a little ambiguous in English.
Would "a digital copy of you(rself)" be better?
It would, however it would lack the singularity that would make it sound like an alter ego that could actually take over your life.
the same in Russian - it requires some implication/speculation/imagination/...
There is a good word in Russian - домыслить/домысливать.
Great word! Thanks 👍🏼
Wow! Such a long discussion.
Thanx for explanation.
That’s how we roll, Tats))) We don’t play around 🤨😛
