One can note that in Japan 11% of the persons interviewed in 2018 admitted the fact that they own cryptocurrency of the USA and 9% - of the Great Britain

Hi Larissa. Not bad! Just a few things (1) "one can note" would be understood, but it's more natural to say "it's worth noting" or "interestingly enough" (2) ADMITTED sounds better followed by TO -ING when someone confesses something; (3) There's no article in front of Great Britain. How long have you been studying English? Where do you live?

🇷🇺 Larissa Skylarkadded a comment 7 years ago

Hi Улий
oops .. of course, no article is needed there
I studied it long ago.
And you?

⁌ ULY ⁍added a comment 7 years ago

I’m actually American, but I’ve been studying Russian for seven years and I love it.

🇷🇺 Larissa Skylarkadded a comment 7 years ago

Nice to meet you Улий. Russian is quite a difficult language though rich and beautiful. May I ask you what made you choose it?

⁌ ULY ⁍added a comment 7 years ago

In 2012, I decided to learn a new language as my New Year’s resolution, but I didn’t know which one. Then I heard an American actor speaking Russian in a movie (one of my favorites now) and I knew right away that was going to be my new language)))

Oh! What a nice story! :)
What is the name of the movie if I may ask..
Мне было бы интересно услышать этого актера говорящим по-русски.

Название фильма - The Sum of All Fears (Сумма всех страхов). Актёр - Ben Affleck. Как ни смешно, пару лет спустя посмотрел снова это кино и понял, что его русский вообще-то из рук вон плох! Куда уж мне до него 😂

My pleasure, Larissa))) if you ever have any questions about English, feel free to ask. You can also find me on VK under my name.

Ха-ха! Зато какой старт!
Я нашла кусочек этого фильма. Ну, "из рук вон плох" - это чересчур строго.. Я бы так не сказала )
Your Russian is very good.
Thank you for sharing and for the correction as well. I have much to refresh in my memory.

Your English is very good. We are all here to learn.

Hi Larissa! I have a question: instead of следует отметить, could one say стоит отметить?

🇷🇺 Larissa Skylarkadded a comment 7 years ago

Hi Улий! Actually both are right. It depends on what one likes to underline:
"следует отметить" = "one should note"
"стоит отметить" = "it is worthy of being noted"
