ACTUALLY they are not "the same".
ПОДОшли = приблизились к = approached, reached, came to, got close to - is most likely in this context. The accent is on the fact that we got CLOSE to the theatre after walking (подошли близко к, подошли к кому-то/чему-то)
прОшли - the accent is on the fact the we WALKED to get to the theatre (прошли через весь город, прошли мимо, прошли через парк) - less likely in this context.

Far from the same... подошли means walked up to, and прoшли means made our way to.

Alejandro, that's not a translation - it's a comment and belongs here. Otherwise it will end up in the dictionary. Additionally, it's an unnecessary comment - people don't often write complete sentences on here and capitalization isn't a priority.
