I think Elena's and Anton's translations are too simplistic given the original Russian. The person asking is focusing on the level of difficulty the listener encountered, not on their subjective estimation of how difficult the assignment was.

Actually, I think Anton's translation says it too. DID YOU FIND is quite appropriate here.
