Is everything in the Russian version correct? It seems a bit wordy. For instance, I don’t understand the function of ТАКИМ ОБРАЗОМ in that sentence. In English, THUS is used for cause and effect. But here, there’s no apparent cause. Also, isn’t it enough to say РАЗОЧАРОВАНИЕМ without having to say НЕ ОПРАВДАВШИМ ЕГО ОЖИДАНИЙ since they kind of mean the same thing?

The Russian version is ok imo. Yes, a bit wordy but totally fine. I just don't understand the purpose of this post. If the Russian version is original why would someone need to translate «ended up a disappointment»?
