He holds himself out as an international lawyer.
Он позиционирует себя как юрист-международник.
He claims to be an international lawyer.
He holds himself out as an international lawyer.
По-моему, так "позиционирует себя" - это вообще калька с английского.
In English, to position yourself, as someone would mean that, based on inside knowledge, you assumed a certain role in a situation so that you would have the upper hand or benefit somehow. What does the Russian verb mean and in what context?
Грамблер, не знаю, откуда пошло, но так говорят))
Uly, позиционирует себя как юрист only means that he says he’s a lawyer.
Ah!
Claims! - How is it I’m not using this word much.:))
