Also, I think the crux of this statement is that they want to avoid people giving long, drawn-out answers, so "as soon as possible" doesn't work either. If anything, it would be "as quickly as possible."

Elena, if they're addressing a group (which I think they are), the correct form would be "responseS" - in the shortest time POSSIBLE.

Yes, that's actually the best way to express it. In this context (and with the appropriate intonation) "so much" means столько, not так много.
