I can't meet (up) with you tomorrow at 12 noon as I'll be busy translating business letters at that time.

Oleg, AT THAT TIME. We only use AT THE TIME when we talk about the past.
🙏
😉
I'm just worried they would expect Artyom to use "I'll be translating" anyway. 😁
That would actually also be correct (and what I would say)
🙏
By the way, Uly. I noticed that future activity usually is expressed in the Future Continuous. Could you explain why?
It’s just a future form of the progressive. If you were talking about the present, you would say “I can’t go, I’m translating.” You just use the same form for the future.
In the Boeing communication they always write something like “I’ll be sending you the data tomorrow/early next week etc.”
Sometimes we use it like that - it means something like “plan on it, be aware I’m going to do it”
Oh ma! Who can guess!
I got it. The progressive emphasizes the action.
It emphasizes the imminence of the action and tells the speaker to look out for something that’s going to be happening in the near future. For example, if you apply for a license and they tell you that you’ll get the certificate once you’re approved. You ask “How will I know when I’ve been approved?” And they say “We’ll be sending you an email to inform you once you’ve been approved” and this is like saying “so look out for an email from us soon.”
Great! Thanks!
👍🏼
If I ask you for help with a difficult post here, you can say “It’s 3am here, but I’ll be posting my translation at some point today.” (=look out for my translation later today)
More than understooood!
Smashing)))
That's what I too wanted to know! 🙏👍🤩
I killed two birds with one stone)))
Another time we use it is when we make dire predictions: “If you do that one more time, you’ll be looking for a new job tomorrow!” -or- “If that hurricane comes this way, we’ll all be swimming to work tomorrow.” -or- “Please don’t tell my wife we went to the casino last night - I’ll be sleeping on the couch for a month!”
