If you are learning Spanish and you have Spanish speaking friends and you want to visit them, it is wise to know this saying in Spanish.

The spanish saying says: "El muerto y el arrimado a los tres días apestan" which means (A dead body and a freeloader stink after three days). If you want to visit your friends, and you are invited to stay at their house, please make you stay as long as 3 days. People have a specific routine which changes when someone is over. It is alright to change the routine for a little bit but it gets tirening after a few days because most of the people want to go back to normal life which is somehow affected by the visitor.

The spanish saying makes a a comparison between a person who is a load for a family and a dead body, and it says after 3 days, it will stink. Convivence makes it harder and can spoil relationships. So, if you want to keep your friends and bother no one, you got 2 options:

1) Stay at a hotel

2) Stay at your friend's place up to three days.
