note (en-en)

Today I would like to tell you about the film "I,Robot".I like that film very much. This film was based on book by Isaac Asimov's short story collection of the same name.If you like science fiction you will definitely like it.

At the beginning I want to pay attention to the three robotics laws:

-1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Only imagine if robot starts feeling and thinking. The detective Del Spooner (Will Smith) is the main character who is going to investigate the suicide of the Professor who created three laws which I have mentioned earlier.

I personally advise you to watch this film

Alchemist Magicaladded a comment 9 years ago

Фрэнк Галлагерadded a comment 9 years ago

Фрэнк Галлагерadded a comment 9 years ago

Alchemist Magicaladded a comment 9 years ago

Фрэнк Галлагерadded a comment 9 years ago

Alchemist Magicaladded a comment 9 years ago

Фрэнк Галлагерadded a comment 9 years ago

Alchemist Magicaladded a comment 9 years ago

Фрэнк Галлагерadded a comment 9 years ago

Фрэнк Галлагерadded a comment 9 years ago

@Lalagjn Gakhramanova,

Фрэнк Галлагерadded a comment 9 years ago

Alchemist Magicaladded a comment 9 years ago

Фрэнк Галлагерadded a comment 9 years ago

Alchemist Magicaladded a comment 9 years ago

Что за limerick party?

Фрэнк Галлагерadded a comment 9 years ago

Фрэнк Галлагерadded a comment 9 years ago

Alchemist Magicaladded a comment 9 years ago

Alchemist Magicaladded a comment 9 years ago

Фрэнк Галлагерadded a comment 9 years ago

Фрэнк Галлагерadded a comment 9 years ago

Marissa Zebaduaadded a comment 9 years ago

Have you read the books? I had a classmate in University who was crazy mad about these books and explained something for English class. His explanation was not that interesting and I did not feel like reading the books. Your explanation about the laws of Robots seems more interesting. Please tell me if books are worth a while to get them. Thanks.

Alchemist Magicaladded a comment 9 years ago

Yes, I have. There are a lot of short stories about robots. Some of them are interesting but it depends on taste. For example the story Robbie is very touching ( the friendship between robot and little girl is shown there and girl's parents worry about this fact, although they have bought robot for their child). I think it is worth to read.

Alchemist Magicaladded a comment 9 years ago

I mean that robots don't have any choices, they have to obey the program which has been downloaded in their brains. And the main robot of this film has has a peculiarity, he can dream. I hope you will finally get to the point at once of what I have written earlier.)))

Igor Yurchenkoadded a comment 9 years ago

Marissa, good science fiction (and Asimov's good science fiction if ever there was one) is not about robots, or spaceships, or aliens. It's about people. Robots, spaceships and aliens just allow to show human behavior outside their familiar habitat. And that's what so great about it. Asimov has a lot of different series. They're mostly based on the three laws, but each has its own peculiarities. For example trilogy "inferno", "kaliban", "Valhalla" is almost a detective story. it's about new type if robots with 4 laws, rather than 3. and one robot without any laws at all. also there's a very nice series, I can't recall a name at the moment, about two guys who test new types if robots in field conditions. Its very amusing and with good humor.
as to the film, it very loosely based on Asimov's books. I was a huge fan of Asimov then, so I immediately went to watch it. All I remember - I was disappointed. But that's what usually happens when someone make a movie based on a book you like.

Marissa Zebaduaadded a comment 9 years ago

Thank you, Igor and Alchemist Magical.

your explanation about the books sounds more interesting about the one heard in college. (Or maybe I changed through time).

Thanks a lot for the suggestions.

Igor Yurchenkoadded a comment 9 years ago

Валерий, not so sure about that. Any way all discussions of this sort basically boil down to something like this: http://bit.ly/2enh93H

Igor Yurchenkoadded a comment 9 years ago

OK, my bad. Caliban, Inferno and Utopia were not written by Asimov, though they were approved by him. My mistake stems from the fact that they were called "Isaac Asimov's Caliban", "Isaac Asimov's Inferno" and "Isaac Asimov's Utopia". They were in fact written by Roger MacBride Allen. Still good books, though

Marissa Zebaduaadded a comment 9 years ago

what was the "если только вы не 2-метровый амбал" ? and why was a "big fant" as a pic. Despite the dictionary sometimes is very hard for me to understand what you guys are saying in Russian.

HE= not ? right?

Фрэнк Галлагерadded a comment 9 years ago

Marisha, hi!

Igor said he is a huge fan of Asimov (bit.ly/1SkEeBe)

Valera said Igor can not be a giant (a huge), but only a big

>> если только вы не 2-метровый амбал
Unless you have a giant two meters tall

Igor said the chat haven’t a sense and he hinted at a big fan.

This is an allusion to Valera that his criticism is not the case (idiom: throw a shit on the fan)

Igor Yurchenkoadded a comment 9 years ago

What Валерий said was "unless you are a 2 meter high hulk". I suppose he implied that the word "huge" referres only to physical size, which I personally disagree with. So I decided to Google if huge fan was as good as big fan. The result of my googling is summed up by the picture above =)

Igor Yurchenkoadded a comment 9 years ago

my dearest Henry, I wasn't saying anything about throwing anything onto anything =)

Marissa Zebaduaadded a comment 9 years ago

Hi Cep Tehpn!

Thank you. I sorta understood that but I was not sure. My dictionary said something about 2 meters but then I didnt know what was the "fan" about.

I understood Igor perfectly which means it can be possible or I have read it else where. Still, when the correction was made, it made me wonder about it. I have sent the question to my American friends. Let's wait to see what they answer.

Thank you Cəp TeHn and Igor. :-)

Marissa Zebaduaadded a comment 9 years ago

" "мозгое бкой" stands for "pisser" ? The spanish dictionary says "bkoy brain"... el cerebro bkoy.
