Thank you 🙏 I have to say it’s strange to get praise for my ‘poetry’ because in real life I can’t stand it.

This is also real life. So, may be something's changing when it comes to the Russian poetry...))

Though this piece of poetry is not a masterpiece, but the words are nice. I will text it to my friends this New Year, I think..

I’ve noticed that Russians love poetry. Cubans do too. It just never resonated with me - especially when someone reads it out loud; I feel like opening a vein.

Yes, quite a lot of Russians love poetry. I think it's because we are taught at school on very good quality poetry - Pushkin, Lermontov, Nekrasov etc. Also, our nature is very quiet and poetic. And, as you know, the Russian soul is a mystery and poetry has some mystery...))

Good heavens, Ravil, really? That’s so nice of you to say. I actually have a Russian friend on Facebook who writes poems on there and sometimes for fun I translate them. I think I enjoy it because it’s challenging and involves Russian, but for the most part I loathe poetry so it’s almost surreal that I’m any good at it 😂
