If you knock on its stomach, what are you going to hear? It's empty as a drum! As clear as a day, there's nothing even close to the engine, neither is there an air screw under it's tail. But it DOES fly - that's the thing! How it's possible is anyone's guess. Yet, it DOES fly, for real. ¿¿¿¿

Russ, thank you. The problem is with "this is it." We say that when we mean that we can't go any further, can't take anymore, like "this is it - I want a divorce!" Now I know what the Russian means - I have to think how to express it in English. I'll add a translation soon with some options.
