The correct translation depends on what this means because TRIP can be interpreted in two ways: (1) the journey to or from a place, in reference to which you’d say THE TRIP TOOK THREE DAYS or WE WERE ON THE ROAD or TRAIN or BUS/IN THE CAR FOR THREE DAYS; (2) the time spend in a destination: WE VACATIONED/STAYED/WENT THERE FOR THREE DAYS or OUR TRIP/VACATION WAS THREE DAYS LONG.
