There are two things to note in this post: (1) the prefix a- (sometimes without the hyphen) is used to describe an emotion or condition that overtakes someone completely: "a-bubble with excitement" means that he was so excited that the excitement was bubbling up in his body like bubbles overflowing from a bottle of champagne (for example). Other such words are asleep, alive, awake, abroad. (2) DECOROUS describes people like the British, who don't display extreme emotion and always maintain a sense of DECORUM - so even when Piggy was a-bubble with excitement, it was a very controlled "British" excitement.

Thumb up!))))
