I don't think "хоть и" can be transferred as 'a bit'.
I believe it should be something like "in spite of being old, they are so comfortable".
Or an equivalent in Russian:
"они хоть и старенькие ..." means "они не смотря на то что старенькие все же такие удобные".
Or what do you think?

Hi Dmitry! I got “a bit” from the form старЕНЬКий. No native English speaker would look at a pair of shoes and say “in spite of the fact that they are old“ – it’s too long and almost literary. We would conclude very simply and succinctly: “they’re old, but they’re comfortable” or, at the most, “they may be old, but they’re comfortable.“
