Anna, this is about license plates. Let’s say this guy lives in Florida and he works at a gas station. As the cars pull into the station to get gas, he’s keeping a tally of how many cars have license plates from states other than Florida.

I’ve always called the interstate the автомагистраль in Russian from a story I read years ago:

Да и еще обьездная дорога - это дорога, огибающая город только с одной стороны. То есть не то же самое, что окружная.
