How to translate? (ru-en)

стало душно и точно из топленной печки несло на нас горячим воздухом с пустыни Сахары не получается на англ перевести, может кто сможет??

STUFFY refers to a room that gets hot from the windows being closed. It’s better to say STIFLING in reference to a desert.

I’m not too impressed with Fainna’s translation. In the literary style, you don’t use the progressive past, but rather the simple past, if the situation described is clearly progressive in nature. “A hysterical woman wailed in the neighboring room.“ “The villagers threw stones at the prisoners as they were led down the street.“
